Dangerous Music that is. We already had a BAX EQ and it’s a great piece of gear but with the addition of the new room what we really needed was an analog mastering backbone. It’s something that’s often overlooked, but when you are doing mastering work with analog equipment a backbone of some type is a necessity. It allows you to quickly compare settings, use volume matching, and perform complex processing tasks in the analog domain. A simple patchbay is just not enough for mastering tasks. This is because of the time it takes to patch something in/out and the perception of the material.
The Dangerous Master and Liaison are not just for mastering. By using the Master and Liaison combination off of the inserts on the console we can quickly audition gear and settings allowing us to make decisions quickly and more accurately then we would have otherwise.
